Opening and Saving Files

Double-click a file icon to open it in the application that owns its type. The File Manager decides which application to use from the file's type rule, the same way the desktop does when you drop a file on an application icon.

To save a file into a directory from an application, use that application's own Save command and choose the directory. The new file appears in any open Icon View window for that directory as soon as it is written.

Opening a File With a Specific Application

Drag the file icon onto an application icon, or use the Actions menu to pick "Open As", then choose the application you want.
