Ports

Blueprint on the machines it is aimed at. These pictures were taken on 31 October 2026. The windows were opened on a desk that was already up and moved into place. Tile mode was left off.

IRIX

SGI O2, hostname Toaster, IRIX 6.5, 1280x1024. CyWM, the toolchest, and the desktop background were already running. The three terminals that were already open were left where they were. A corner of one shows up at the edge of a few frames.

File manager

IRIX fm on the left, CyFiler on the right. Both are opened on /usr/people/cyan. fm's status line says 23 of 38 files. CyFiler's says 23 of 23.

Audio

IRIX audiopanel on the left. CyMix on the right. CyMix's window title is Audio Panel, which is the panel it stands in for. The devices are the O2's A3 speaker, line out, camera mic, microphone, and line in.

Icon Catalog

Both were open on the O2 at the same time. A 1280-wide screen does not hold the two windows at full size without one covering the other, so these are the two windows from that sitting, each cropped so the whole window is in the picture.

CyFiler started with --catalog, on the Applications page. The icons are the session menu. The status line says Ready. The tabs along the bottom are Applications, Controls, Tools, and Log Out.

CyFiler Icon Catalog on the Applications page

IRIX iconcatalog, /usr/sbin/iconcatalog. It came up on Alias, page 1 of 17. Maya 6.5 and Maya 6.5 Extras are the two icons on that page. The other tabs are AliasWavefront, Applications, and Collaboration.

Clocks

xclock with no frame, on the IRIX desktop. Analog and digital. Those are the two faces the X clock has. CyClock's other faces are drawn through GL, and this kind of screen grab does not record that drawing.

Borderless analog and digital xclock on IRIX

Solaris

Sun Ultra 60, hostname rollin60, Solaris 8. The CyFiler and CyMix in these pictures are the binaries built on that machine. The console was at the CDE greeter, and its X authority is held by root, so the windows were drawn on a private X display rather than the Sun framebuffer. The background is flat navy. CyMix found no audio device on that display, which is what the panel says.

CyFiler on /export/home/sgriggs, and CyMix beside it. The title bar says Audio Panel. The line in the window is the null backend: no controllable audio devices.

Same display, lower down. xclock with no frame, analog and digital.
