Accessing Files at FTP or Web Sites

The File Manager can open a directory on a remote FTP site as though it were a folder. Choose "Open Location" from the Actions menu and type the address, for example ftp://ftp.example.com/pub. An Icon View window opens on the remote directory, and you can drag files out of it to copy them home.

Dropping a file onto a Web or FTP location icon uploads it, if the site allows writing.

Remote windows can be slow to fill, since every icon is a network round trip. The status line shows the transfer while it runs; the Stop button cancels it.
