The Toolchest: An Overview

The Toolchest is Blueprint's always-present launcher. It is a small bar of titled buttons, and each button opens a menu of programs and desktop commands. Blueprint's Toolchest program is called cychest. It is the "what can I run and how do I reach it" surface of the desktop, meant to sit in a corner and stay put while you work.

The Menu File

Every entry in the Toolchest comes from one plain-text menu file, kept at ~/.cyanotype/menu. The desktop right-click menu reads that same file, so the two always agree. You can edit it by hand or through the desktop's Customize tools.
