Documentation / Contents - Font Scheme
Font schemes are looked for in this order. The first directory that has a scheme of a given name wins, so a copy of your own shadows a shipped one.
~/.cyanotype/cyfont your own schemes; the only place anything is saved <share>/cyfont the schemes shipped with Blueprint the build tree's share/cyfont, when running uninstalled
Note that your font schemes live at ~/.cyanotype/cyfont, NOT under ~/.cyanotype/share. That is by contract. To see the resolved list on your own machine, and in precedence order:
cyfont-prefs --dirs
That is the first thing to run when the scheme list comes up empty.
A font scheme is line-oriented text with a .cyfont tail. A version sentinel, a display name, then one role per line.
!cyfont-1 !name: Rivendell ! ! Lines starting with ! or # are comments. Two guarantees the file format makes:
A scheme has two names and they are not the same thing.
The panel matches them ignoring case, so "default" in the list and "Default" on the wire are understood to be the same scheme.
Identical to the shipped default scheme:

Bold is Plain's size in bold, not a size larger. Both oblique roles are bold oblique.
CY_SHARE override the shipped asset root HOME where your own schemes are written; without it, saving fails CY_LOG default logging spec
