Documentation / Contents - Dock Area
The zone belongs to the window manager, so its settings live in the window manager's own file, not in one of this tool's own:
~/.cyanotype/cywm.conf the window manager's settings
Two keys in it are ours:
dez_edge none, top, bottom, left or right dez_percent 0 to 50
The older spellings reserve_edge and reserve_percent are still read, so an existing file keeps working. Apply writes the current spellings.
tile_gap the gap between tiled windows
This tool reads it but never writes it. The preview needs it so that the gaps between the five blocks are your real spacing, scaled; a preview drawn with no gaps shows a desktop nobody runs. Set the gap in the window manager's own preferences.
Every other key in cywm.conf is left strictly alone. Apply merges the two keys into the file, so your comments and your other settings survive.
cydock --conf=PATH
Point it at another file, which is what you want when preparing a configuration for a different machine.
The Toolchest's Auto-adapt preference is the Toolchest's own, in the Toolchest's settings, not here. See When the Toolchest Owns the Zone.
See From the Command Line to read the current values back.
