Belongs to Another Panel

• Focus. Whether a window takes the keyboard when the pointer enters it, or only when you click, is the window manager's setting, not the mouse's. See the Window Manager book.
• Colour. The Scheme choice on the Trail page follows the desktop colour scheme; the scheme itself is chosen elsewhere.

Not Built

• Wheel settings. There is no scroll-wheel speed, no wheel emulation, and no button-count control. Left handed swaps the first and third buttons only and leaves the wheel alone.
• Per-device settings. One set of values applies to every pointing device.
• A trail thickness or particle size control. Trail length has three presets and there is no slider, even though the underlying setting is continuous.
• A custom trail colour. The five named choices are what the panel offers; the daemon can still take a literal colour set by hand. See Keys, Files, and the Command Line.
• A reduce-motion or high-contrast trail mode.
• A per-desk or per-application trail mute.
• Help. The Help button logs a note and opens nothing. This book is reached from the Contents/Search window or from a shell.

Known Rough Edges

• Reset ... shows three dots but opens no dialog. It applies the factory settings immediately and there is no way back to your previous ones.
• The Click Speed slider cannot express the Slow or Fast presets, so slider and preset disagree after you click a preset. See The Pointer Page.
• Pointer-page changes are live on the display at once but are only saved when you press Apply, while Trail and Cursor changes save themselves. The two halves of the panel behave differently on purpose, and it surprises people.
• The double-click time only reaches programs launched after Apply.
