Using Colored Smoke

Colored Smoke is the icosmoke binary. Pick it in CySaver, or run it from a shell when you want a look on the desk before you arm the saver.

Under CySaver

Customize > Screen Saver lists Colored Smoke with the other hacks when icosmoke is installed. Hack options (body count, smoke channels, drop, bounce, colour, greyscale / and related) land in ~/.cyanotype/cysaver.conf and are passed on arm and on Test Full Screen.

Windowed On The Desk

icosmoke
icosmoke -count 12 -colors 2
icosmoke -greyscale
icosmoke -halftone

Default is an ordinary framed window. Greyscale drops chroma on spheres and smoke. Halftone is a 1-bit Bayer newsprint look and implies greyscale.

Fullscreen Without CySaver

icosmoke -fullscreen

Override-redirect full screen; exits on input. Same contract as the saver path.

Embed And Prefs Preview

icosmoke -window-id 0xWIN -no-input-exit

Use -no-input-exit whenever a parent window owns the session (CySaver preview or any wrapper that must survive key and mouse). Without it, fullscreen still exits on activity.
