Daemon, Lock, and Command Line

Documentation / CySaver Screen Saver

Session Daemon

startcyanotype plans `cysaver --daemon` for the session. The daemon watches idle time (MIT-SCREEN-SAVER when available, else a fallback), runs the chosen hack or blank, and can hand off to the lock greeter.

While a hack is up, the pointer is hidden via cymoused. On DPMS blank or off, the daemon pauses the hack child and resumes it when the tube is on again.

Lock Hotkeys

cywm / cykeys bind Super+L and Ctrl+Alt+L to:

cysaver --lock

That locks now (password for your real account). It does not wait for idle. Unlock is cylogin-greeter --lock, not a separate locker binary.

Command Line

cysaver open the Screen Saver panel
cysaver --daemon session idle arm-er ([--replace])
cysaver --activate run the saver now
cysaver --lock lock the screen now
cysaver --apply-timing push blank/DPMS from conf (no panel)
cysaver --selftest headless checks

Standard house flags: -h/--help, -V/--version, --log, -v, -q.

Configuration File

~/.cyanotype/cysaver.conf (override: CYSAVER_CONF). Hack choice, enable, lock, idle minutes, lock grace, blank, and DPMS stages live there. The panel Apply and the Timing tab write it; the daemon reads it on start and when told to reload.
