Documentation / Contents - Color Schemes
Fonts are a separate scheme, edited in a separate panel, served on the same daemon. Any font scheme mixes with any colour scheme, and switching one leaves the other exactly as it was.
The nine font names are also legal inside a colour scheme file, and some shipped schemes still carry them. Those are legacy bindings; the font scheme outranks them.

The Background half of the same panel chooses the picture or pattern on the root window. Because "Lock scheme to wallpaper" is on by default, choosing a picture normally chooses a scheme too. See Choosing a Scheme.
The Background half has its own book, which covers the picture and pattern lists, the placement choices, and the scheme column's controls:

Four roles colour the window frames: WMBackground, WMForeground, WMActiveBackground and WMActiveForeground. The window manager follows the scheme live, like the rest of Blueprint's own programs.

BevelScale is a scheme setting, not a separate preference. A scheme can make every bevel on the desktop heavier or lighter without changing one colour. See The Roles.
