Overview of CySplash

CySplash is the Blueprint startup splash, the end-session panel, and the global keyboard-help overlay. One binary, three faces.

Open this book from Help Books as "CySplash", or:

cyhelp --book CySplash --topic overview

The Applications page lists it as: Startup and end session.

What It Does

At login, startcyanotype.sh starts the desktop pieces and writes pid files under ~/.cyanotype/run/. CySplash watches those pids, paints the STARTUP SEQUENCE checklist and the SYSTEM SPECIFICATION sheet, then fades out and exits. It does not launch or control the session; it only reports what the launcher already started.

The same program is the interactive end-session panel (Logout, Shutdown, Reboot) and the session hotkey overlay. Default cywm chords:

Scripted logout without a window is cysplash --logout-now (what the old cylogout --now path forwards to). See the CyLogout book for the deprecated shim.
