Overview of CySelect

CySelect is the path picker other Blueprint programs and scripts exec when they need a file, a directory, or several paths.

What It Does

cyselect hosts the libcyui CyFileDialog stack (FileBrowser and DirView). The parent passes the mode as long options, waits, and reads absolute paths from standard output -- one path per line. There is no other IPC.

Modes cover open-one-file, choose-one-directory, multi-file, multi-dir, mixed multi, and Save As. Multi-select uses the same gestures as CyFiler: Ctrl-click, Shift-range, and a rubber band on the empty canvas.

What It Is Not

• Not a file manager (browse and commit a path; CyFiler owns the desk)
• Not a library call -- parents exec the binary and parse stdout
• Not a place to leave open; it runs a dialog, prints, and exits
