Overview of CyPix

CyPix is the colour and pixel worker for Blueprint: grabs, compares, wallpaper paint, schemes, palettes, and file-manager thumbnails.

What It Does

CyPix is a worker rather than a window you live in. It:

• Grabs the screen, a window, or a rectangle (no scrot / ImageMagick)
• Reads and compares pixels (strips, finds, diffs, dE76 compare)
• Builds .cyscheme files and palettes from a picture
• Paints the root wallpaper for CyWall Apply and the filer backdrop
• Writes .cycache thumbnails when CyFiler asks
• Traces black line art into IconSmith FTI strokes

CyWall and the filer backdrop both call cypix --wallpaper. That path smooth-scales and publishes the root pixmap. The grab path works on a bare box.

What It Is Not

• Not a photo editor or paint program
• Not a replacement for CyWall's prefs UI (CyPix is what Apply runs)
• Not something you leave open; it runs, prints or writes, and exits
