Overview of Display Preferences

Display Preferences (cymonitor-prefs) sets the DPI and layout numbers the desk uses to size type and place heads.

cyhelp --book CyMonitor --topic overview

The Applications page lists it as: DPI.

What It Does

An X display has several numbers that all answer to "DPI", and they disagree: pixels over the millimetres the driver claims versus the Xft resource that actually scales a point size. This panel sets the resource Xft uses. It can also replay saved resolution, rotation, and multi-head layout at session start.

The display server is still X11. This panel does not install a new one to get a sharper font.
