CyTinyMon

Link monitor

CyTinyMon docks a tray icon with two lamps. LAN is on the left and WAN is on the right. Green means the configured hop answered. Red means it did not. When a lamp goes from up to down, a short banner appears.

The monitor stays off until you enable it. If the targets are empty, the first run can fill them from the default gateway and from a public hop, and you can replace both. It does not configure interfaces, and it does not own the tray. The monitor itself is a tray lamp, not a document window. The picture is Link Monitor Preferences.

Link Monitor Preferences. The lamps themselves sit in the toolchest tray, and the CyChest close-up shows them.
