Open by type

CyOpen opens a file with the handler for its type. That is the same path the file manager and the desktop icons use when you double-click. It can also list types, list the candidate programs that are actually installed, and show which one won.

The ranking is a text file you can read. It is not a hidden MIME database you have to reverse-engineer. File Type Handlers is the panel that edits it. The cyopen command itself does not draw a window. The picture is that panel.
