Reading assistant
CySpeak reads text aloud. The text can be a buffer, a plain file, or the X selection. The engines are the classic portable ones, tried in this order: speech-dispatcher, eSpeak NG, eSpeak, Festival, and Flite. Neural voices are out of scope.
It is a reading face, not a screen reader. It does not speak through AT-SPI, it does not drive a braille display, and it does not walk a browser's document. Session hotkeys for speak and stop live in the desktop key file, next to the other bindings.
