CyPower

Restart and shut down

CyPower is the program that the toolchest Restart and Shut Down rows run. A menu row that calls a bare shutdown fails on a normal account, and a menu row must not pretend otherwise.

There is no system bus and no privileged daemon for this. The privilege is a doas or sudo rule scoped to exactly two commands. It is not a general root shell with a power button painted on it. The build photographed for these pages does not include CyPower. Restart and shut down on that desk go through the end-session panel.
