CyPix

Pixels and color

CyPix is the color and pixel tool, and it is a worker. You do not sit in a CyPix window. It grabs the screen, a window, or a rectangle. It reads pixels, compares captures, builds schemes and palettes from a picture, writes thumbnails, and traces line art. It does not open a window of its own.

When you press Apply in CyWall, and when the filer backdrop paints the root, both of them run cypix --wallpaper. That path smooth-scales the image and publishes the root pixmap the way Esetroot does, so other programs can see the background. The grab path does not need ImageMagick. The machines this desktop is built for often do not have ImageMagick installed.
