Network panel
CyNetwork is the network panel. The front face monitors the interfaces the operating system already has. When you apply a configuration, it writes the files that host already understands: wpa_supplicant, the DHCP client, ifconfig, and the rc scripts. A helper with a fixed argument list does the privileged install, through sudo or doas. The panel does not hand you a general root shell.
If NetworkManager, or something in that family, already owns the machine, CyNetwork says so and gets out of the way. A tray readout of the real state is fine. Taking over the stack just to blink a light is not.
