CyMix

Audio levels

CyMix is the audio panel, and it is the counterpart of the IRIX Audio Panel. The window is labeled Audio Panel. The per-channel faders write the real hardware volume, with mute, a choice of device, and level meters, through whatever native backend the host has.

On a machine with no controllable mixer, it says so, instead of drawing a wall of dead sliders. It does not build a second mixer on top of the one the operating system shipped. The loudness of desktop event sounds is a different panel, Sound Preferences.
